Welcome to the largest conference and gathering in Gothenburg for those who work in research communication – the Forum for Science Communication, FFF. This year’s theme is From Vision to Reality. The morning is forward-looking and analytical, while the afternoon is devoted to concrete tips and tools.
This year you can listen and talk to Hanna Brogren, CEO of the Swedish Communication Association, Jannike Tillå, Head of Communications at the Swedish Internet Foundation, and David J T Sumpter and Katrin Uba, researchers from Uppsala University. They will be talking about: the future role of communicators, the effects of environmental activism, including Greta Thunberg, the internet habits of Swedes, and what happens when researchers start to care about what people really care about!
At FFF 2020 we will be putting special emphasis on workshops that focus on the craft of communication. We have gathered a bunch of talented people who will be passing on their tips and sharing their experiences in creating infographics, podcasts, citizen research, mobile press releases and other useful knowhow. Choose whatever interests you!
The day concludes with the presentation of the 2019 Ig Nobel prize by its founder, Marc Abrahams, for research that “first makes people laugh, then think”, and with Marcus du Sautoy, Simonyi Professor of Public Understanding of Science from University of Oxford, who will be talking about maths for everyone.
See you there!
